Overview
This guide walks you through downloading the Outlook app and adding your Microsoft 365 email account on your Android device.
Step 1 - Download the Outlook App
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone
- Search for Microsoft Outlook
- Locate the official Outlook app published by Microsoft Corporation
- Tap Install and wait for the app to download and install
Step 2 - Open Outlook and Begin Setup
- Tap the Outlook app icon to open it
- The first time you open Outlook, you will be prompted to Add an Account automatically
- If you already use Outlook with another account, tap your profile picture in the top left corner, then tap the gear icon (Settings) and select Add Mail Account
Step 3 - Sign In to Microsoft 365
- Enter your full Microsoft 365 email address (example: you@yourcompany.com)
- Tap Continue
- You will be redirected to the Microsoft 365 sign-in screen
- Enter your password and tap Sign In
- Complete any additional security verification such as multi-factor authentication if prompted
Step 4 - Grant Permissions
- Outlook may request permission to access your contacts, calendar, and notifications
- Tap Allow to grant the necessary permissions for full functionality
Step 5 - Finish Setup
- Once your account is successfully added, you will be taken to your inbox
- Outlook will begin syncing your email, calendar, and contacts automatically
- You can now use Outlook to send and receive emails, manage your calendar, and stay connected
Notes
- If sign-in fails, verify your credentials by logging into https://outlook.office.com first
- Make sure your Android device is running the latest available software updates for best compatibility
