Overview

If Outlook search is not returning results, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Step 1 - Update Outlook

  1. Go to File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now
  2. Install any available updates and restart Outlook

Step 2 - Rebuild the Search Index (Windows)

  1. Go to Control Panel > Indexing Options
  2. Click Advanced
  3. Click Rebuild under the Troubleshooting section

Step 3 - Check Cached Exchange Mode

  1. In Outlook, go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings
  2. Select your account and click Change
  3. Ensure Use Cached Exchange Mode is enabled

Notes

  • Rebuilding the search index may take some time depending on the size of your mailbox
  • Search should work properly once reindexing is complete
