Outlook Error "5objp" When Setting Up Email on Outlook App Print

Overview

Follow these steps if you are having trouble signing into Outlook with your Microsoft 365 account.

Step 1 - Start with the onmicrosoft.com Address

  1. First, try signing in using the @myorg.onmicrosoft.com format email address
  2. Example: joe@myorg.onmicrosoft.com
  3. Use the same password as your normal email account
NOTE: This sign-in attempt will fail — this is expected and part of the process.

Step 2 - Fresh Authentication Session

This failed attempt will open a fresh authentication session inside the Outlook app, which is required for the next step to work correctly.

Step 3 - Sign In with Your Correct Credentials

  1. Outlook will now prompt you to sign in again
  2. This time, enter your correct email address in the standard format
  3. Example: joe@mydomain.com
  4. Enter your normal email password

Outlook will now redirect and complete the sign-in process without issues.

Notes

  • This method works by forcing Outlook to reset its authentication session before accepting your correct credentials
