How to Bypass Microsoft Account Login During Windows 11 Home Setup Print

Overview

Since you accidentally connected to the internet during the initial Windows 11 Home setup, Windows will force you to sign in with a Microsoft account. To force the setup into offering a local account option, disconnect your internet and run a simple command.

Step 1 - Disconnect from the Internet

1. Unplug your Ethernet cable if using a wired connection

Step 2 - Open Command Prompt

1. Press Shift + F10 (or Shift + Fn + F10 on some laptops) to open the Command Prompt

Step 3 - Run the Local Account Command

1. Click inside the black Command Prompt window to make it active
2. Type exactly the following and press Enter:

start ms-cxh:localonly

This instantly bypasses the setup prompts and allows you to create a local username and password.

Alternative Method - BYPASSNRO (If the Above Command Does Not Work)

1. In the Command Prompt window, type the following and press Enter:

OOBE\BYPASSNRO

2. Your PC will automatically restart
3. After the reboot, you will be back at the initial setup screens
4. When you reach the "Let's connect you to a network" screen, select "I don't have internet"
5. Choose "Continue with limited setup" and you will be able to create a standard local account
